Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Distinguish the clinical presentation and pathophysiology of patients with heart failure (HF)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of standard therapy for managing HF with reduced ejection fraction and the purpose and mechanism of each drug in altering the disease state
  • Analyze the role of vasoactive peptides and If channel in the regulation of the cardiovascular system
  • Assess current evidence for employing If channel inhibitors in the treatment of patients with systolic heart failure
  • Summarize the latest clinical trial data for emerging therapies for the treatment of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction
