Cardiologists and other members of the cardiac care team such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, etc.

 

Learning Objectives

  • List factors that increase the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation
  • Identify the benefits, risks and limitations of warfarin therapy and guidelines for its use in stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation
  • Discuss the benefits and limitations of genetic testing for warfarin dosing
  • Describe the role of antiplatelet therapy for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation and recognize emerging alternatives to warfarin
  • Describe non-pharmacologic strategies for the prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation

 

Activity Overview

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must participate in the full activity, complete the 10-question online post-test with a score of 70% or better, and complete the evaluation. Participants who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation questions online will receive a certificate of completion via email.

There is no fee associated with this activity.

Participants who have successfully completed the live version of this activity are not eligible to receive credit for this enduring material.
